Your Guide

After years in the Cretan tourism business I'm now going to follow a suggestion that many of my guests have made, to organize individual excursions to lesser known parts of the island in springtime and autumn. I'm thinking about congenial people who want to experience new paths in a different way, also diversity and fun which can be found in smaller groups. Let's try to find the "heart of Crete" together!
My first stay on Crete in 1965 was followed by reiterations, finally resulting in an "acute island fever", also known as "virus creticus". So I migrated to the island in 1984. There is however no recovery in sight.
During various excursions on the island I improved my knowledge about the local plant life, fauna, and the geology. Shepherds and village people are among my best friends and informants.

For more than half of my 17 years stay on the largest Greek island I have been busy guiding walks, trekking tours and bus excursions, and on the side picked up more than 100,000 kms with my enduro. Knowledge of the Greek language, especially of the Cretan dialect, has opened many doors to the Cretan people and helped me understand their habits and traditions as well as their cultural peculiarities.
It will be my pleasure to share this knowledge about Crete and its people with you.
